One of the most cost-effective ways to get traffic to your site is through the joining and promotion of free ad networks. You can have thousands of people promoting your site FOR you, and it won't cost you a cent!
There are many ad networks out there, but I have discovered that only a few are needed to get quality traffic. It's very important that you don't sign up with so many that you get confused! Here are 4 free ad networks that are currently working for me, and a few of the benefits that come with each:
My Mega Submitter Network - This is a truly fantastic site. I have been a member since 2000, and have found the tools, resources and tech support to be wonderful. Here are just a few of the benefits you get when you join:

Small Biz FFA - The list is small, meaning your link rolls off fast. But for such a small list, I have gotten real results.
World Submitter - During their free preview period, I tried their Hyper Submitter. It submits to 12 ffa sites at a time. A terrific time saver! Their list of ffa sites is updated every day, which means no 404 errors in your submissions.
Jimtools - Submit your site to 1600+ ffa pages. Once a day only, but free.
FFA Net - Post your ad to their entire database with one click. You must validate your email to use this free service.
Silver Submit - Blast your ad to over 250 FFA sites!
My Mega Submitter - Includes ffa submission to 42,395 pages. Post your ad on their bulletin board for more hits!
